When I head out knowing I won’t be stopping properly for at least a month. There’s a bit of off-roading and gravel, but for the most part I’m on the road. Despite the lightweight gear, the whole set up nad bike totals around 40kgs, but keeps me going for months at a time.

The total opposite of how I normally travel, I tried my best to shed the pounds, off the bike. The Komoot Womens Turin to Nice 2022 and Sydney to Summit 2023 were a crazy change of pace. Less than 10 days, with plenty of elevation and off-roading, my normal rig was a no go.

Touring VS Packing

When I first found out Bikepacking at the end of 2021, I had no idea how much variety there was in the world of long distance cycling. Since then I’ve met ultra-marathon riders and touring nomads, all with their own personal set up and preffered gear. I am the last person to pretend to be good at a lightweight set up, but I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without having the set-ups of others to gain inspiration from. Hopefully my gear can help make some hard decisions a little easier.

I’ve decided not to link products that I didn’t enjoy using, such as my current frame bag that is now being held to my bike with bungee straps.
